What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication is an additional layer of security that provides a second verification of your online identity. Stonebridge Bank provides two options for two-factor authentication: the RSA SecurID™ token and the Shared Secret method. The RSA SecurID™ token uses a token with a digital readout you must enter upon login. The Shared Secret is a randomly generated question that you will have to answer before login is complete. These are questions that only you will know the answer.
What is Shared Secret?
Shared Secret is another option for two-factor authentication. You will be asked several questions and your responses will be recorded. Every time you login, you will be asked at random one of these questions and you will type your response. There is no charge for this method of added security.
How does it increase your security?
In today’s world, you may be at risk from many different scams. One of the most popular is a "Phishing" scam. In this kind of scam, users are tricked into giving their user name and passwords to criminals. With Shared Secret, you’ll have an additional layer of security between your private financial information and the outside world.
How do I enroll in Shared Secret?
After you login, go to the "other services" link found in the left hand navigation. You will then be presented with an informational page containing your options for two-factor authentication. Make your selection to receive further instruction. If you have any questions, please contact Stonebridge customer service at 1-800-807-1666.
